Hey, what's wisdom got to do with these pieces of jewelry?

Well, it has. Just as you I bought over the years jewelry + charms that added up to a pile of used/broken/I needed to have it/why did I like that stuff. I keep them cause I always plan to upcycle them by mixing + creating new pieces.

The punchline is I always plan, which continues with but I rarely do it. I do that with a lot of other stuff in my life.

It's like my will materializes into words, not actions. So I decided to just do it, not only say it.

I feel like saying I will do it many times a day, but I'm biting my lip and focus just on action. Not mentioning I'm freeing my mind of some projects that are kind of stuck there for long + getting rid of that I couldn't make it... again guilty feeling.

Back to the pile of jewelry, I started today to re-make some pieces. I wanted to do that for so long... It feels good to finally do it, even if it's so frivolous.

Who said only difficult stuff is serious + worth doing first?

You know those drawers you wanted to organize for ages? How about those colorful buttons you wanted to sew on your coat? Start making the things that are easy and fun!

TAD 2012

Hi guys.

I's the 6th year Thing-a-day's been around and I finally made it, we're in (thanks to dear Anca who reminded me).

kittns and I don't have a thorough plan of what to create every day (although we have lots of ideas)  + we spend most of our time with nine week old Sean so I'm guessing we'll probably sketch stuff. The whole experience should be even more interesting, having little time to... well, anything.

I will post the artsy thingy a bit later, meanwhile you can join us and get inspired.

So here they are, two upcycled funny pins, yep the bears used to be part of Sean's first shoes which are too small now. Cool, huh? By wearing them we'll hold on to a lovely memory.

Finally, the brand new goodies we have been preparing for you: a small but precious range of entirely handmade tote bags (or how kittns like to call them chillin' bags).

The message.

As we spend a lot of time indoors, I believe we should make our space comfy and cozy, a shelter where we feel nurtured on love and peace. I thought pillows can be so close and tender: we rest with them while napping on a Sunday afternoon, we hug them when we listen to our best friends adventures, we even throw with them when playing pillow fight with our better halves.



I called this particular collection The message, as and it showcases lovely realities that we need to be reminded of everyday or fragments of our favorite things to say all in the purpose to brighten our days and make them better.
I painted the characters and text on cotton and linen and they are very very soft to the touch. With the risk of repeating, I'm going to say again that the textile paint that I use is water-based and contains no solvents. Their sizes vary, as some pillows are singles and some come in sets of two.

I love to write letters to family, friends and even unknown people just because I like their sites or their creations... Lately, I've been keeping up correspondence with Anca in Munich, Germany.

The truth is her work inspired me to reopen the blog.

I found such a clean message in her whimsical world, that I remembered why and how I started kitten in the first place. It was for all the soulful things which at moments I lost on the way: dreaming, trust, hope. I've been using my mind so much, that I nearly killed the fun. Biba Bijoux Sale

New Kittens.

I've been wanting to get kitten designs on some other support than textile, and so I thought of experimenting with ceramics. It's not the first time, I've been working with porcelain and clay in the year of 2002 when I had my first art business together with a partner; our works were of liquid ceramics though, the kind that needs to be cooked in a special oven at high temperature. We used to make a lot of bells and decorate them, pots, vases and even lamps - oh, it was very cool.
Now I experimented with another kind of clay, the one that only needs air to dry and harden. I cut the small pieces (circles and squares), I gave them a smooth touch using my fingers, then I let them dry for 24 hours. After that I polished them, I began painting using acrylic colors and I coated them in transparent varnish in the end for a nicer look and longer duration in time.
They turned out to be brooches and I think they're sweet. I hope you like them too, as they will be your presents whenever you're ordering kitten t-shirts. You can have any design you want, you can even match them with the t-shirts if that's your wish. Takeaway Bag

These cats...

... had a very special corner at the cat show.
There were ragdolls, russian blues, cornish rexes,
house cats next to us, but most of the time napping,
tired cause of the big show. Like true superstars
they told us "No pictures please!"
